Programs

  • Eagle Watches (seasonal—November through February)
Join a park interpreter for a guided eagle watch tour on DeGray Lake. View wintering bald eagles, loons, herons, grebes, a wide variety of ducks and other water fowl. The tour will also include a visit to an eagle nest. Bring binoculars and be sure to dress warmly for the weather.
  • Lake Tours and Sunset Cruises
Enjoy a relaxing cruise on scenic DeGray Lake. During this guided boat ride, you'll learn about the history of the lake, view DeGray's wide diversity of wildlife, see rock outcroppings along the shore and DeGray's unique islands, and visit an eagle nest.
  • Kayak Tours
One of the best ways to enjoy the lake is to paddle a kayak along the shoreline as you explore quiet coves. Flat-water kayaks, paddles and lifejackets are provided, and no previous paddling experience is necessary. Be prepared to paddle approximately two miles (1 ½ hours). Your guide will show you the basics of kayaking and answer your questions along the way. Participants must be at least 10 years old to paddle a boat solo.
  • Guided Nature Hikes
DeGray is home to five walking trails that are all easy to moderate in difficulty, ranging from .25 mile to one mile in length. Trails are open daily for self-guided walks, but many park visitors prefer to enjoy the experience of a guided walk with a park interpreter who will share topics about the flora, fauna and more.
